I was born in 1944 and have been
dealing seriously with photography since the
beginning of the 70´ies. Dentist by
profession but retired since 2007, and my wife and I enjoy, that there
are no demands on us.
I stand for pure and honest photography, and my most
important theme is man. The human mind fascinates me
deeply.
Meeting people as a photographer give me experiences and
values, I could not be without. And values are
the salt
of life. No theme is strange for me. On this
site you can watch images with a lot of different
themes. As mentioned
people inspire me, and there are many
varieties. But in the end they show up to have
dreams and
hopes as myself.
A good photograph must contain an artistic
experience in form of a message, a story or just be a
technically
delicate
photograph. You must be able to return, enjoy again or
find new angles in the story. It
is always an
abstraction, because the
photographer cuts a 2-dimensional slice out of the 3-dimensional
reality. It's a
manipulation in itself,
when you press the shutter button. The digital medium
has not made me do
technical experiments and manipulations in
a larger scale. But there are a lot of possibilities in
it.
There has to be a reason for
experiments. It's difficult to explain in words, but you
can say, the effect
should add something to the photograph and
not stand alone.
Digital photography has been a good
fertilizer. The man in the street has taken it up, and
you meet people with a
camera everywhere. And I do believe, that the
development
will lead to higher and lasting quality in regards to
prints.
My digital equipment is a Nikon D700 with some old
AF-lenses. Furthermore I have a Canon G9, which has
the advantage of being easy to bring along.
I´m a member of "Fotogruppen Kama" - a small group
with only 2 members. We have joined SDF-
The Society of Danish Photography. Through SDF we are
members of FIAP. With my group mate in "Kama"
Christian Guldager and John Petersen I've made
diaporamas.
A diaporama is a hybrid form, an automatic
slideshow
with sound. To be mentioned is a show about having a
dog, a show about the modern human
in its own absurd world,
and a show about showing feelings figuratively.
In our group we also value to spread out the knowledge
of photography. Ten times we have managed the local
arrangement of "The Golden" on Haderslev Museum. "The
Golden" is a censured FIAP-exhibition with around
600 accepted works.
I’m also a member of a an unofficial group of
photographers called "Fotosyndikatet". with
the photographers
Marianne Skovby Christensen, Leif Christensen, Torkil
Michelsen, Erik Holmgaard, Peter Klode.
We join one or two times a year to have a good time
together and share our common interest in photography.
HAVE A GOOD TIME WITH THE PHOTOGRAPHS.
