Lourdes is a holy town in the south of France at the foot of the Pyrenees. A revelation took place in 1858 in a cave.

The Virgin Mary appeared before a young virgin named Bernadette.  After her early death this girl became a saint.

For catholics the water from the source in the cave has a healing effect.

Several million pilgrims visit Lourdes every year praying to God and drinking from the source in hope of a miracle.
